Remember “The Blair Witch Project,” that utterly inane mock documentary in which a bunch of kids supposedly filmed their own adventure in some woods where they went camping and met an other-worldly villain bent on killing them? Well, “Trollhunter,” opening today, repeats the nonsense, but in Norwegian, written and directed by Andre Ovredal.
Once again, but with subtitles, film footage is discovered, supposedly shot by amateurs. As a mater of fact, both movies were shot by cinematographers trying to show that they were inept amateurs — and mostly succeeding. “Trollhunter” has no redeeming values of any sort, except for the dry, rather witty performance of Otto Jespersen as a civil servant in charge of the chase party.
