The website The Daily Meal has announced its list 101 Best Pizzas in America. Not just pizza places, mind you, but specific pies. (Anyone ever noticed that the word "pies" isn't used in St. Louis much to refer to pizzas? It's always seemed to me an East Coast thing – I began my serious pizza adventures in western Massachusetts. I like using "pies".)
Pi's pizza of preference, theirs, at least, is the Delmar. It's a deep-dish pizza with mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, barbecue sauce from pappy's, roasted chicken, red and green peppers, red onion and a sprinkle of cilantro. Not St. Louis-style pizza, no. But it's nice they got the plaudits.
