The University City Children's Center Family Organization is having a harvest dinner and he's cooking. No word on the menu, but it's being supplied by Andy Ayers, our man-about-town-and-country purveyor of great local eats.

And it's $40. No, that's not a typo.

It's November 14, a Thursday, 6 o'clock for appetizers and dinner begins a half hour after that, all this at the school, 6646 Vernon Avenue in U. City. Includes wine, but no word on the menu yet. I'm thinking this is going to be a deeply casual affair – khakis and work shirts and snazzy socks would be my guess. And space is limited, so be warned.

Reservations? The release shows www.uccc.org/harvestdinner, but the last time I checked, there was no link to reserve a spot. You can call 314-781-2167, though, for a reservation.
