Gitti and Chris are a handsome young German couple, vacationing in the Sardinian sun. They're in the rather early stages of a relationship, finding more enjoyment in each other's bodies than their minds, though that begins to change a little as writer-director Maren Ade's film moves along.

Birgit Minichmayr is Gitti, Lars Eidinger her lover and their play reminds one of a couple of kittens rollicking on the lawn.

Ade's writing is rather stolid as the couple wanders through the maze that is a relationship; he's a young architect, she works in public relations. A couple of dinner parties toss a couple of clues in the audience's direction as they visit with Hans (Jochen Wagner), a more experienced architect and his wife, Sara (Nicole Marischke), a designer.

Little happens. Few will care.

Everyone Else opens today at the Tivoli.
